Small Surprise
Basically, I got what I expected except the print wasn't as large as i would expect for a "large Print" bible. But otherwise, I am very satisfied with the item as well as the shipping time.
Exactly what I expected.
This product came exactly as promised and it was just what I expected. It arrived in great condition and in the allotted time frame.
my daughter loves this bible
This was the one gift that my daughter ask specifically. She still is thrilled at what she can find in this bible. I would suggest this bible for the world to read.
Decent, but not excellent, parallel KJV/NIV Bible
There are surprisingly few KJV/NIV parallel Bibles out there. I settled on this one after I couldn't find anything better. Each page is split between King James on the left and New International on the right. The individual verses do not line up, but the start of each chapter does, and each page contains the same verses so you never have to look beyond the same page to compare verses.
In the back are 2 concordances for the 2 translations. In the Bible text itself there are no footnotes or references in the KJV, and only a few translation footnotes in the NIV. I would not recommend it as a study Bible. Also, the print is all black; no words of Christ in red.
The book does seem to be high quality, and the hardcover offers good protection.
Font size
A quick response to the people who found the "large" print not large enough. Bibles are now offered in at least 4 font sizes; Regular, Large, Giant and Super Giant. I did not realize this myself until I browsed through the isles at my local Christian bookstore. I do not know if this version is offered in the giant or super giant but there is probably one offered somewhere. Amazon does have a feature where you can browse sample pages and I believe that the scans are actual size. Hope this is helpful.
